Field Sales Consultant - Future Area Manager - Food Industry Specialist (m/f)

Can you speak the same technical language as technologists and development engineers at food and beverage manufacturers? If you enjoy combining technical consulting, fieldwork and sales, we have a challenge for you. Our client is an international development and manufacturing company offering technological solutions for the food industry. As part of a small local team, you will work daily with customers in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Southeastern Europe and with R&D specialists at the parent company abroad. We are not looking for a conventional salesperson, but a technically knowledgeable partner for customers. After a year of personal mentoring, you will gradually succeed an experienced colleague and take responsibility for the region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily technical advice to existing and new customers in the food industry
• Make frequent field visits to customers and the development laboratory
• Identify customer needs and contribute to developing new products and formulations
• Work closely with the parent company’s R&D technologists to develop solutions
• Ensure quality and improve existing products and technological processes
• Present products, prepare quotations, negotiate and build long-term relationships
• Monitor the market, competitors and new business opportunities across the region
• Visit customers regularly and coordinate their requirements with the R&D team
• Gradually assume sales and business development responsibility for the region

What would we be pleased to see you bring to the role?

• A degree in food technology or comparable professional experience
• Excellent knowledge of technologies, ingredients and product development in the food industry
• Experience in food product development, technology, quality or technical sales
• Ability to engage in technical discussions with customers’ development engineers and technologists
• Sales aptitude, customer focus and enthusiasm for fieldwork
• Independence, organisational skills and the ability to work in a small team
• Working proficiency in English
• Willingness to travel regularly throughout Slovenia and Southeastern Europe
• Ambition to gradually take on the Area Manager role
